Editorial Policy
How we decide what to publish, how we check it, and what we do when we get something wrong.
1. What we publish
We publish content that answers a question a traveller or an operator actually has. A page is written because there is something useful to say about it, not because a search term exists. If a topic has no genuine angle, we do not publish a page for it.
We do not publish pages that are substantially the same subject as an existing page. When we discover that two published pages target the same intent, we consolidate them so that one page is the canonical answer rather than competing with its own sibling.
2. Sourcing
Guides are built from primary sources wherever possible: transport operators, official tourism bodies, government publications, venue and festival organisers, and first-hand visits. Where a claim rests on a third-party report, we link or name the source rather than presenting it as our own finding.
We do not copy or lightly rewrite other publishers' work. Where we cover the same event as another outlet, we add what a traveller needs (practical consequences, access, timing, cost) rather than republishing the announcement.
3. Verification before publication
Every guide passes a checking stage that includes, at minimum:
- Transport claims checked against the actual operator — for example, that a city described as having a tram genuinely has one.
- Prices either stated as a fixed official figure or marked as approximate; we do not present an estimate as a confirmed cost.
- Opening hours, schedules and seasonal claims flagged as approximate unless officially published.
- Internal links resolved — no guide is published linking to a page that does not exist.
- Headings and metadata checked so that each page has one clear subject.
A claim that cannot be verified is removed, not softened.
4. Software and automation
We use software in research, drafting and checking. We disclose this because a reader is entitled to know how a page was produced.
Automation does not lower the bar: every published page is held to the same verification standard described above, and a page is not published because a tool produced it. We do not mass-produce pages to capture search traffic, and we do not publish first-hand experience we do not have.
5. Corrections
When a verifiable error is reported, we correct the page. Substantive corrections are noted rather than silently applied, so a reader who relied on an earlier version can see what changed.
To report an error, email contact@trimyo.com with the page URL and what is wrong. Please include a source where possible.
6. Independence and disclosure
- We do not accept payment to feature, rank or favourably review a hotel, riad, tour operator or service.
- Where a page contains an affiliate link, it is disclosed on the page.
- Advertising, where present, is labelled and does not influence editorial coverage.
- Business or investment coverage is reporting, not advice, and is not a recommendation to invest.
What we do not do
- We do not publish paid placements disguised as editorial guides.
- We do not claim to have visited or tested something we have not.
- We do not keep a page live purely to hold a ranking once it stops being accurate or useful.
- We do not use hidden text, cloaking, or pages built to funnel readers to another page.
